In celebration of School Librarians Day, J.M. Odom Elementary School proudly recognizes our exceptional media specialist/school librarian, Mrs. Courtney Thompson.
During her two years at J.M. Odom, Mrs. Thompson has made a remarkable impact by transforming our media center into a vibrant, welcoming space that inspires a love of reading in all students. Her efforts to revamp the library have created an environment where students are excited to visit, explore, and check out books.
Mrs. Thompson has thoughtfully expanded our collection with new and engaging titles that meet the diverse interests and reading levels of our students. She has also developed creative reading incentives that encourage students to read more frequently and with greater enthusiasm. As a result, our school has seen measurable growth in Lexile levels across all grade levels.
We are incredibly fortunate to have Mrs. Thompson as part of the J.M. Odom family. Her passion for literacy and dedication to our students continue to make a lasting difference each and every day.
